About Me
Hi! My name is Jordan, owner of Schuh Guitars.
I’ve played guitar for more than 20 years. My first guitar was a cheap Squire Strat, but several years later I received a beautiful yellow-orange sunburst Ephiphone Les Paul for Christmas, and I still remember the excitement I felt when I plugged it in for the first time and gave it a strum. For nearly a decade, it was the only guitar I played.
In the summer of 2025 I picked up laser engraving as a hobby. I decided try engraving a guitar, and was instantly drawn to the process of creating something that sounds as beautiful as it looks. I began with simple prototypes built from DIY kits to practice my skills, but as I grew in experience so did my curiosity. The builds that I currently make are almost entirely built with my own custom parts, and when designing them I put a lot of focus into creating an instrument that feels nice to play. I shape the body to a smooth contour so it rests more comfortably when playing either standing or sitting, and I treat the neck to be as smooth as possible. I lower and level the frets so they glide nicely, and I use locking tuners to make changing strings a breeze (and because I think they’re cool). Each of my guitars takes a total of 70+ hours of work over several months to complete, and I personally spend weeks testing each model to make sure they play reliably and sound excellent.
My business is very young, but I have high ambitions for my next projects and I have plans to expand my designs beyond the current Tele-style. I am currently working on some designs for basses and 7-string guitars, and eventually I would like to create my builds entirely from scratch.
I hope you enjoy my designs, and I hope even more that you consider supporting my work.
